The digital marketing agency in Canada, or anywhere in the world, you’re working with won’t magically change everything for your business. They can’t make your site top Google in weeks and they can’t transition your brand’s value in a few months. So, as a first step, do not expect unrealistic results from your agency. But that said, what you can expect from them is that they are on the right track and are working adequately to successfully take your business to the next level. In that, it’s a fairly obvious and accepted question to ask: Is your hired agency doing a good job?

Even those who are well-versed with the dynamic world of digital marketing find it difficult to gauge their agency’s performance (and commitment). Are you one of them? Here are three ways to find if your digital marketing agency is doing a good job or not:

1. Look at the metrics: This is the most obvious thing. However, you don’t want to look at the absolute numbers. Instead, you want to focus on the growth trend. For instance, if your website is getting 100 organic visitors a month, that’s not a good number. But if your site was receiving 10 organic visitors the previous month, 100 is definitely a very good improvement. So, look at the growth trend. Is that growth considerable? Is that growth consistent? Make your opinion accordingly.

2. How are the conversations going? It’s not just about hiring someone and leaving them alone to do the task for you. It’s teamwork between you and the agency you have hired. You must work together to achieve the defined goals. But this “teamwork” won’t work if both the parties aren’t on the same page. So, the key question is how the conversations with your agency are going? Is the relationship between you two cordial, friendly and with a sense of understanding? Or are there strains in the relationship and the conversations with them usually end up in raised voices and disagreements? Ideally, you don’t want to work with a digital marketing company Australia that you don’t properly connect to.
